Teambuilding Amsterdam

Teambuilding Amsterdam
What a weekend!

It’s all about building the team

At EPIC, our idea of a team-building isn’t exactly “standard.” Every year, we go all out on a weekend trip to push ourselves, learn more about each other, build up those team vibes, and—let’s be real—have an amazing time.

We’ve set a pretty high bar over the years with mountain getaways in Switzerland, canal trips in the South of France, and epic lakeside retreats in the Vosges. So, this time, we had to think outside the (nature-loving) box.

Enter… Amsterdam!

Day 1

Our day kicked off with a 7:00 am rendez-vous at our HQ for a first briefing. This was the team’s first look at the weekend plan—and they were definitely in for some surprises.

Soon enough, we hit the road to Amsterdam. The trip itself was a prime chance to swap stories, share laughs, and place bets on “What wild stuff are we doing this weekend?!”

Upon arrival, the big reveal: our accommodation  was not your average hotel rooms. Nope, we’d be crashing in old-school sleeper trains! This 1980s trains once ran the Zurich-Rome night route, so yeah… it was very very basic and there was some serious vintage charm. Nobody minded.

We barely unpacked before grabbing a drink and hopping on our bikes (our official wheels for the day). The adventure was on!

On the Agenda

  • A giant, city-wide treasure hunt (yep, on bikes) that took us through the coolest neighborhoods in Amsterdam.
  • An immersive museum experience with the VAN GOGH & REMBRANDT exhibit—a mix of interactive displays and digital mapping.
  • Biking by boat! Okay, it was just a ferry ride to Amsterdam Noord (the city’s street art haven), but still.
  • An end-of-day feast at a fantastic restaurant to chill out and refuel.
  • A totally wild night at…a ROLLER DISCO! Imagine this: you, your bosses, your coworkers, decked out in costumes, all roller-skating under disco lights. Unimaginable? We pulled it off.
  • The very end of the night? Well, we’ll leave that part to your imagination.

After this amazing day, we crashed back on the sleeper train, each of us in a top, middle, or bottom bunk bed for some much-needed sleep.

Day 2

Wake-up call at 8:00 am. We dragged the partiers out of bed, took a quick shower, downed some much-needed coffee, and the team was ready to roll into day two.

Switching It Up

One location all weekend? Not our style. Under a perfectly blue sky, we set off for Zandvoort’s sandy beaches, about 40 km from Amsterdam (we didn’t bike this time, shame on us).

On the Agenda

  • All sorts of beach games: strategy, strength, agility, races… the team took on every challenge thrown their way. Who would be the ultimate champion? Spoiler: everyone found it tough to leave their competitive spirit behind. Once again.
  • Cocktails, beers, and a delicious meal under the sun! On a sunny Dutch “tropical” day, we chilled on a beach bar terrace, reliving the weekend’s best moments.
  • Closing out the weekend with our traditional team drone photo!

As you can tell, EPIC doesn’t mess around when it comes to team-building. We’re already counting down to the next one!
